What is the influence of the different AVAs/vineyards on the wine?
It's huge! That is why we do it.

  • Pope Valley- Peachy tropical fruits.
  • Howell Mountain – Very pineapple driven. Lots of yellow fruits.
  • St. Helena – Green apple and honeydew melon.
  • Oakville – Grapefruit, lemon, lime, floral, white peach.
  • Oak Knoll – Grapefruit, lime zest, and lemongrass.

    What is the vineyard program for the Estate Sauvignon Blanc?

  • Made from the estate vineyard at PlumpJack in Oakville, which is planted in some of the heaviest soils. Sauvignon Blanc does really well here.

    From the vineyard at PlumpJack, this is some of the best Sauvignon Blanc I have ever worked with. It has a great intensity of flavor and aroma. It is always my favorite of all the vineyards we work with. It is planted in some of the heaviest soils, but Sauvignon Blanc does really well here.

    What are the differences between the winemaking approach and the Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc?
    Compared to Napa Valley, I use more concrete eggs, barrel ferments, and Viognier, Sémillon, and Sauvignon Musqué. It's just the best blend we can put together from the estate vineyard.

    What are the aroma and flavor profile differences from the Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc?
    Typically, there are more floral notes, more complexity, and more viscosity in the palate in the Estate.
